Jedicon WV 2024 Exclusive Jawa (Minor)

Pictured is a JediCon WV Jawa (Minor). Exclusive to JediCon WV, the Jawa is pictured in a Minor Outfit. The Jawa is fitted with a Miner Hat and comes with a Pick Ax accessory. The figure comes in a plastic baggie and a resealable clamshell. Created by Plastic Vomit Customs, only 20 Jawas were produced.

Here is a picture of the back of the figure. The background pays homage to the initial 12 Backs that were released in 1978 and is a notable addition to my collection.

 

Waddington's House of Games Star Wars Puzzle. (MIB)

 

Pictured is a House of Games Star Wars Puzzle featuring our beloved Jawas. These were produced in the UK around 1979 by Waddington House of Games. Unlike most Star Wars puzzles that featured backgrounds or pictures from the movie, this features the actual Action Figures or Toys that we played with. In the background, you see the Jawas carrying a droid, but not R2D2. As you can see the Droid has a red bar on the side, so it must be R5D4.

 

 

Here is a closer look of the Jawas carrying their prized droid with some cool Tie Fighters in the background. The puzzle is Mint in Box with all of the pieces (350) accounted for. A nice addition to my collection.

Large Japanese (Takara) Keshi Rubber Jawas

 

Pictured are Large Keshi Jawas produced by the Japanese Company Takara in 1978. When it comes to rarity, Large Keshi Jawas are downright scarce and are considered the "White Whale" of Japanese Keshi. The figures measure 1 1/2" in size and were part of a late series release for the Keshi line. I consider myself very lucky to have tracked down the Translucent versions as they are considered "grail" type of figures. The solid ones are somewhat easier to find. However, they rarely come up for public sale. Pictured here is my "ongoing" run of Keshi Jawas..

Star Wars Punch-Out and Make-It Books (American and Italian)

Pictured are two Vintage Star Wars Punch-Out and Make-It Books. Produced around 1978, the books allowed kids to recreate different characters or vehicles from the movies. R2D2, C3PO, Lightsaber,Tie Fighter and the Sandcrawler were featured on the front of the book. The same book had been produced/distributed in Italy and features the classic "GUERRE STELLARI" on the front and translates the same characters in Italian. For example, Pistola-raggi or Energy Pistol.

Here is picture from inside the book featuring "Cingolato Jawa" or the Jawa Sandcrawler complete with instructions for kids to put this together. The American version is fairly easy to find, while the Italian one is fairly hard to find. A third version exists in French and I hope to track it down one day.

Jawa Window Movie Display (Unused)

Pictured is a Jawa Window Display. To celebrate the re-release of Star Wars in 1997 or as some call it, the "Special Edition" characters from the movies were displayed outside the Theater. The characters included Darth Vader, Yoda, Stormtrooper and the Jawa. The display is made of plastic and would be attached to a window and in most cases tossed out when no longer needed. The display is unused and measures 17" tall and 9.5" wide. They are fairly hard to find and make a nice addition to my Jawa collection.

Star Wars West End Games A New Hope Set (MISB)

Pictured is a Star Wars West End Games A New Hope Set. Produced in 1988, the set featured Characters from the initial Star Wars Movie, A New Hope. The figures are cast in pewter and are unpainted.

Pictured is the back of the set and features, Princess Leia, Luke, Darth Vader, Tusken Raider, Jawa, Hammerhead, R5D4, Greedo, Stormtrooper and Power Droid. The set is still sealed and is a nice "Vintage" like addition to my collection.

POTF2 Ronto Jawa First Shot

 

 

Pictured is a POTF2 Ronto Jawa First Shot. The figure is molded in Lite Blue (front and back torso) and Aqua Blue (bottom torso, arms and head). The figure is devoid of any copyright information and is non-sonic welded, so it can be taken apart.

Here is a picture of the figure with a first shot blaster. The blaster is molded in blue and matches the color of the figure.To date, this is the only known Ronto Jawa first shot molded/shot in this color scheme.

Star Wars West End Games Minitures (Heroes and Villians)

 

Pictured is a Star Wars West End Games Miniatures (MOC). Produced in 1993, during the "dark ages" of Star Wars between the Vintage era to POTF2, starting in 1995. They feature the Heroes: Han Solo, Chewbacca and of course, the main hero, Jawa. The Villains: Stormtrooper, Greedo and Hammerhead are ready to defeat our might heroes. The figures are unpainted, so they can be painted in any desired color scheme.

Here is the back of card, noting the date of production (1993) and that these are not toys and are to be used for role playing only. Sure, like that has ever stopped anyone before. These make a novel addition to my collection and help "bridge" the gap between the Vintage and POTF2 era.

Mexican Jawa (Yawa) Vinyl Bootleg/Knockoff

 

 

Pictured is a Vinyl Jawa Bootleg/Knockoff from Mexico. Though ugly and down right strange looking, the Jawa is oozing with appeal. The figure is painted dark green with black feet, hands and the face is black with hollowed yellow eyes. Being honest, I am not sure if the Jawa is about give someone their last rights or take his two lightsabers and cut them in half.

Here is close-up picture of the face and his menacing red lightsabers on his hilt. The figure is 10" tall and is hollow underneath the feet (not pictured). In the world of Jawa bootlegs or dare I say knock-offs, this fits in very in well with my collection and is a welcome addition.

Archive Miniatures Bootleg Jawas (MISP)

Pictured are Archive Miniatures Bootleg pewter Jawas. Produced around 1977 or possibly 1978, these are essentially the first pewter rendition of characters from Star Wars. Unfortunately and due to the license for Star Wars being owned by Kenner, they were never approved for production, thus making them only available as bootlegs. Sold in sets of five, the figures were unpainted. Note the Grocery price sticker ($2.95) on the front of the pack, as these were sold in Hobby shops and Novelty Stores. 

Here is a closeup of the Jawas. Though they lack the "fan fare"of 12 Backs and other hard to find Star Wars collectibles, the sets are quite rare and I am fortunate to have two of them. These make a nice addition to my "ongoing" Jawa run and my every evolving collection of Bootlegs.

Star Wnrs (Lepin) Bootleg Jawa Lego's.

 

The world of bootlegs or knockoffs is an ever evolving and changing evolution of a figure or set. Pictured are bootleg Legos, created by Lepin. These are similar to the Lego brand, but are bootlegged and sold in different Countries, most notably Singapore and Thailand. Note the "Star Wnrs" vice Star Wars in the title of the box and various other misrepresentations in the background picture.

As you can see the box is bigger than the "normal" production one and sharp eyes will note the difference pieces, 219 to 197 as well. The set is still sealed and for now, I have no plans on taking them out and comparing the two sets and individual pieces. This is a nice addition to my collection.

Jawa Bootleg Set (Ugly Buggers)

Pictured are two sets of Bootleg Jawas. Referred to as "Ugly Buggers", these were produced in Thailand and are made of paper and a wood type of material. The eyes are painted and glued to the head, similar to the weapon (white) that is glued to the hand and cannot be removed. The bandolier is painted in black on the chest to mimic the figure from the movie. They vary in color and can be found with and without weapons. Oddly enough, the Gold one is sealed in a clear baggie as this might have been an exclusive for the initial set of four.

Pictured above is a set without weapons. Similar to the ones pictured above, they are made of the same material, but the bandolier seems to be more blended. I have to admit these are very strange, but make a wonderful addition to my Jawa Collection.

Celebration Orlando 2017 Uncut Sandcrawler Patch.

Fortunately or unfortunately, there are very few things I take personal for this hobby. Though I truly love collecting, in the end, these are merely items residing in my home to be shared with friends who share a common passion and family, who in the end allow us the time to pursue them. The pictured patch came from my dear friend Bob Martinazzi, who we tragically lost in 2018. He was a good man, a devoted Father and a fellow "Vintage Snob" as we had a small clique of friends who focused primarily on Vintage Star Wars. Bob focused on Luke Jedi and amassed an impressive collection over many years. I initially made a deal with Bob around September 2017 for this vary Patch, but we never "officially" completed the deal before he passed. I am very thankful for his wife, Allison who allowed me to complete the longest deal in my collecting journey. This patch means a lot to me and will always be proudly displayed in my collection.

Celebration Chicago (CIX) Exclusive MADBROWNZ Jawa Pins and Buttons.

I am proud to announce my Celebration Chicago (CIX) Exclusive MADBROWNZ Jawa Lapel pins and buttons. These beautiful pins and buttons showcase a Jedi Jawa with his "Cancer Saber" ready to do some damage. They also note "RIP Luke Jedi" as I personally pay tribute to my good friend Bob Martinazzi (http://www.lukejedi.info/), who we lost in 2018.


These pins and buttons will be handed out at Star Wars Celebration CVIII from April 11-15, 2019. However, ten sets (Pins and Buttons) have been set aside and are being sold with 100% of the benefits going to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital to aid in their quest to find a cure for children's catastrophic diseases.
